About the role

This position is 5 days per week, commencing Tuesday 26 April to Tuesday 20 December 2022 with the possibility of extension.

This role involves working with the Aboriginal Education team to support Aboriginal student attendance, engagement and educational outcomes. The successful applicant will positively engage with all stakeholders, develop relations with Aboriginal families and the community members, and contribute to a positive culture at Scone High School. The role will include assisting classroom teachers to organise and prepare resources and implement strategies to assist each student in achieving goals set in their Personalised Learning Plan as well as working as an effective team member across the whole school.

  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in order to achieve outcomes.
  • Demonstrated commitment and ability to support personalised learning for Aboriginal students to achieve cultural, wellbeing and academic goals.
  • Ability to foster and develop relationships and partnerships with Aboriginal families, students and community members.
  • Demonstrated ability to organise community events for the school with key stakeholders including engaging parents and the community in cultural experiences.

 

Who can apply

Successful applicant will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check Clearance.

Confirmation of Aboriginality or a certified statutory declaration upon interview as defined in the Confirmation of Aboriginality Guidelines.
